Nodular Iron Casting Services
Design and Manufacturing Services for Spheroidal Iron Parts
At Belar Metal Casting, we offer manufacturing services for spheroidal iron parts, ranging from 100 grams to 20 kg in total weight. We cover the entire manufacturing process for a part of this type, from design through manufacturing and subsequent shipment to anywhere in the world. We primarily manufacture short and medium-sized production runs, although long runs are also possible.
First, our clients present us with the technical specifications of their industrial part, and our technical department assesses its feasibility based on the material and resources available at Belar Metal Casting.
Manufacturing process
Core Manufacturing
We have two automatic hot-box core making machines and two automatic cold-box core making machines.
Sand cores allow for the formation of internal cavities necessary for the final design.
Their use ensures that components have the appropriate shape and desired functionality.
- They allow for the creation of complex geometries inside parts.
- They are essential for the production of lightweight and durable parts.
They facilitate ventilation during the casting process, reducing defects such as trapped gases.
Molding
Molding: Automatic, vertical, using Disamatic.
We use green molding: wet sand is compacted around a model to create the mold that will serve as the base for casting the metal.
Casting
Casting: Automatic.
Automatic Pouring: We use mechanical systems to control the flow of metal, promoting uniformity and speed in production.
Shot Blasting
Shot Blasting: Automatic.
Its main objective is to clean and prepare metal parts for further processing or use.
The purpose of shot blasting includes:
- Removing impurities from the surface of parts.
- Eliminating irregularities generated during melting and casting.
- Improving the adhesion of paints and coatings.
The automatic process allows for:
- Increased production speed.
- Consistent finish quality.
Reducing the risk of human error.
We ensure that each produced part meets the necessary technical and regulatory specifications through:
Visual Inspections
They are the first line of defense in quality assurance and consist of inspecting parts under appropriate lighting conditions, paying attention to:
- Visible defects such as cracks, bubbles, or deformations.
- Irregular surfaces that may affect the component's performance.
- Compatibility with the required dimensions and shapes.
Non-Destructive Testing
They allow the integrity of parts to be evaluated without causing damage. They include:
- Ultrasound, which detects internal discontinuities.
- X-ray, useful for identifying hidden defects.
- Magnetoscopy, indicated for ferromagnetic parts.
Destructive Testing
They are essential for determining the mechanical properties of materials. Tests such as:
- Tension, to measure the strength and elasticity of the metal.
- Impact, which assesses toughness and behavior under sudden loads.
Hardness, checking wear resistance.
